Waynetown, July 1 - The funeral services for Everett Long, whose death occurred here Friday morning will be held Sunday afternoon at the late residence at 2 and will be in charge of his pastor, Rev WH Atford of Crawfordsville an Rev. WD Headrick the Christian minister here. The interment will be in the family lot in the Masonic Cemetery west of town.

Waynetown and all this community was greatly shocked early last Friday morning when the word was passed over town that Everette B. Long was dying. It had been known among his friends that he was not well for for several days but no one had thought that his illness was a serious nature and when the announcement came that death had called him on that journey through the valley of the shadow, it was truly agreat shock to the family and to all his friends here and in the old home neighborhood southwest of town. His illness covered a period of less than one week. Everette Britton Long, was the son of John Wesley and Eliza Booe-Long and was born in Fountain County Oct 2, 1864; died June 30, 1916, aged 51 Years 8 Months 28 Days. On February 8, 1884, at the age of 20 years, he united with the Ingersoll Chapel Christian Church under the preaching of Evangelist Clay Cassell and since that time has been a faithful consistent member and supporter of the church. Soon after uniting with the church, his clean upright life and devotion to the church appealed to the members and he was made a deacon in the congregation and served in that capacity sought in the church and by those who knew him so well. It can be truly said of him : "His strength was the strength of 10, because his life was pure." On September 25, 1889, he was united in marriage to Ellen Myer (sic - Myers), and to this union 4 children were born - two sons and two daughters: Thurman and Paul, Mary and June. Mr. Long was devoted to his family. He loved his wife and children and gave them a father's council true and kind, his first considerations always being for his loved ones first. With love and devotion he ruled in his household. Besides the family he leaves two brothers: A.V. and Walter Long, and four sisters: Mrs. Amos Leonard, Mrs. Hyson Myer; Mrs. SH Fine and Mrs. Harry P. Cooper and one grandchild and a large circle of friends join with the family in their sorrow over his death. Everette Long lived in life's sunshine and greeted every one with a smile and a word of cheer. The funeral service was held at the home on South Vine Street Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. WD Headrick assisted by Rev. WH Alford, a very large company of old neighbors and friends being present to pay their last respects to one whom they had known so long and so well. Interment took place in the family lot at the Masonic Cemetery -kbz
